Ericeira

Lagos
Lagos is a major holiday resort on the Algarve with shops, hotels and lively nightlife but very busy. There are plenty of surf camps and houses in the old town only moments from the beach. The beaches in the area are very beautiful and the surf here is great for beginners.
Sagres
Sagres is at the bottom corner of Portugal’s south/west coastlines and offers some of the best surfing in Europe. With its dramatic scenery and striking cliffs, there are several beaches here and surfing is available at almost all and exceptional at Praia do Tonel. Peniche
Peniche is a great spot to spend your surfing holidays, with kite and surf lessons for beginners available. Its on a headland with waves crashing in on all sides, with its magnificent views of Berlenga islands. On the north side of Peniche, is Baleal the sandy beach here offers some truly fine surfing.
Vila Nova de Milfontes
Situated below Lisbon but north of the Algarve on the Alentejo coast is Vila Nova de Milfontes, which is located in the beautiful Costa Vicentina Natural Park. The sea can be pretty wild here and watch out for the nudist beaches!
Carrapateira
It is one of the most popular surf and renowned pretty eco villages in the middle of the Algrave area. There are plenty of surf schools and two awesome surf beaches and other facilities which provide a great surfing experience with a relaxing atmosphere for fun outdoor activities.
Nazare
The biggest waves are here and are where the great and good in surfing come to break records. 2013 saw Garrett McNamara break the world record here with a 30 metre high wave just here. This is the beach north of the headland, which attracts ocean swells that form truly massive waves.
Viana do Castelo
